SHORT BRIEF OF THE CITY

WHAT TO SEE

Zoroastrian fire temple :Yazd Fire Temple is the place where the Zoroastrian holy fire is kept in Yazd city and the Zoroastrian shrine living in this city. Entering this shrine has always been associated with etiquette for worshipers, including the cleanliness of men and women. The sacred fire inside a large tannery and a person named “Hirbod” is responsible for keeping it lit and twice a day using almond wood to keep the fire burning. Visitors to the fire temple can see the blazing fire from behind a glass wall. The fire that burns inside this fire temple has been lit for more than 1530 years. This fire is a part of the fire of the fire temple of Karian in Larestan, which was brought to the city of Aqda in Yazd and kept there for about 700 years. In 852, he was taken from Ardakan to this city. First, it was kept in a neighborhood called “Khalaf Khan Ali” in the house of one of the great clerics named “Azargoshsab shooter cleric” and in 1313, after the construction of this fire temple during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi, it was taken inside.

HISTORICAL TEXTURE OF YAZD:

This traditional and historical texture is one of the most unique examples of desert architecture in the world. In the architecture of houses and alleys, it is intended for wind and sunlight. Each house has sections that include: outside and inside of the yard, bed, hall, windbreak, entrance, porch, separate rooms for various daily tasks, kitchen, water storage. One of the most attractive parts of any house is having natural ventilation systems called windbreaks, which are considered as valves for air entry and by these windbreaks, the air temperature is controlled and causes these houses to cool down.
Other attractions of the historical buildings of Yazd include water reservoirs, which include a covered pool and are built in the basement of the houses, the roof and dome of which are brick or brick, and the water inside these reservoirs in full seasons. Rain is collected and stored to be used when it is low, all of these features are to help city residents to avoid extreme heat in the desert region of Yazd


ZURKHANEH RITUALS:

Zurkhaneh sport or ancient sport or wrestling sport is the name of a set of sports movements with special tools or sometimes without tools and customs related to them, which has been common in the historical and cultural area of ​​Iran since ancient times.
The place where they play ancient sports is called Zurkhaneh. In addition to the sport of Zurkhaneh, wrestling is also held in Zurkhaneh.
The ritual was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010 and is the oldest bodybuilding sport in the world, according to official statistics from the University of Cologne.
This ritual and sport has introduced many famous Iranian myths to the world, including Pouria Vali from the region of Azerbaijan.
